Anthony Gwenter sadly passed away on Friday 15th July 2016 aged 31. He grew up and lived within sight of Maes Gwili Parc Hendy. He is remembered by his loving wife Charlotte, daughter Isobel, mother Dilwen and his sisters together with other close family members.
A Celebration of Anthony's life was held at Llanelli Crematorium on Friday 29th July. It was a touching service that was well attended by his many friends in the local community. His sisters, Jodie, Joelle and Kassie shared their memories of their brother. Jamie Rees also spoke on behalf of the family. Hendy RFC was proud to provide a venue for family and friends to come together after the service.
Anthony "Gwents" was a former captain and senior player at Hendy RFC. He was known as a formidable and uncompromising rugby player during his career and many would agree (with his own assessment) that he was "pound for pound" our best No.7. He was also a successful youth player at Pontarddulais RFC and is remembered by many past and present players of both villages.
